Insulated Roof Pergolas

Insulated panels when you want a solid roof and less heat through it. Typically Versiclad. I will name Versiclad on a job when that is the panel I am using.

Doing this in Sydney's East and surrounds for 13+ years.

What an insulated roof is

A solid panel roof on a timber or aluminium frame. Light does not come through the way it does with polycarbonate or EzGlaze. Rain stays out, and no heat comes through the lid.

I use this when the space needs to work like a room that is still open on the sides. An outdoor kitchen is the usual example.

Hardwood posts and beams on most jobs. Aluminium when that is the better match to the house or the deck.

I can fit ZipScreens to the pergola if you want the sides closed in.

Outdoor kitchen surround, Coogee

When I use it

A table and a barbecue that have to stay usable in summer. A kitchen that needs shade, not a glass-like lid.

The Coogee outdoor kitchen sits under insulated panel roofing: barbecue, fridge and sink in the shade, view left open. That is the one to look at if you want this roof.

When I do not

If you want light through the roof, that is standard polycarbonate or EzGlaze. If you want rafters only, that is an open pergola. I will tell you which roof I would use on your site.

Coogee — outdoor kitchen under insulated panels

A Coogee job above the pool, looking out to the water. I built the outdoor kitchen into the deck: stud wall clad in FC sheeting, insulated panel roofing, shiplap and Blackbutt battens, a working sink with hot and cold water, bar fridge, stainless barbecue.

How I build one

A consultation at your place. I look at the span, the fixings back to the house or the footings, sun, and how you actually want to use the space. Then I write a fixed price and a full scope.

I build it myself. Footings or connections, frame, roof, flashings, and the last fix.

Who you're dealing with

I'm a licensed NSW carpenter, licence 272840C, with 13+ years building outdoor structures around Sydney. The person at the consultation is the person on the tools.

Houses and townhouses in the Eastern Suburbs. I do not take apartment or unit jobs as head contractor.
